These are Hirwa, Amahoro, Agashya, Umubano, Karisimbi, Sabyinyo, Susa A, Kwitonda, Tius and Pablo gorilla family. Gorilla trekking is the major tourist activity that attract a high number of travelers to this bamboo forest park.

Trip Highlights

A single gorilla permit in Rwanda costs $1500 and 80 permits are available everyday. In addition to gorillas, the 3 Days Rwanda tour also offers you golden monkey trekking experience for a lively encounter with these other endangered primates. Over 1000 golden monkeys are estimated to live in this apark and two communities have so far been habituated for trekking. A permit to see these primates costs $100 each. For birders, Volcanoes National Park is home to over 180 bird species some of which are rarely found anywhere else in the country. Expect to see some notable bird species such as Blue Spotted wood dove, Red backed Shrike, Cinnamon chested bee eater, Bateleur, Ruwenzori apalis, Ruwenzori turaco, Ruwenzori Nightjar, Handsome Francolin, African Long Eared Owl, Strange Weaver and Brown necked parrot among others. The other wild animals such as African buffalos, Chimpanzees, Colobus monkeys, Forest elephants and black fronted duiker.A city tour in Kigali will expose you to the beautiful sceneries, historical sites such as the genocide memorial sites, local markets, art galleries and shopping malls among other attractions in the city centre.

Moreso, you can take part in volcano hiking to climb mount Karisimbi and mount Bisoke located in Volcanoes National park. The 2 Days Mount Karisimbi hike give you an opportunity to reach the summit of the highest volcano. You can also hike to the graveyard of Dian Fossey to commemorate her selfless efforts in saving the endangered gorillas that were at the verge of extinction. Other attractions in Volcanoes National Park include Bulera and Ruhondo twin lakes and Musanze caves.
Visit the Gorilla guardian village (former Ibyiwacu cultural village) to learn the traditions, norms, customs and beliefs of local people.

Day 1

Kigali City Tour

You will be picked up from your Kigali hotel or airport on arrival and be taken for a Kigali city tour. You will visit the Kigali genocide memorial, local markets and other places of interest. Have a lunch break and then embark on a 3 hour drive to Volcanoes National park. Arrive in the later afternoon and relax at your lodge or can go for cycling. Meals and Overnight at Da Vinci Lodge / Gorilla Solution Lodge (Deluxe)/ Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Five Volcanoes Hotel - Deluxe rooms (Luxury)

Day 2

Gorilla Trek & Cultural Tour

Head to the park headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking and then head to the forest for the hike. This will take 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and once you get to them stay in their presence for an hour taking photos and getting to know more about them. Later return and proceed to your lodge for a rest and in the evening you can go for a cultural tour at the gorilla guardian village where you will get to know more about the local people’s culture. Day 3

Golden Monkey Trek & Departure

After breakfast at your lodge head for a briefing again this time for golden monkey trekking. You will be led to the forest where you will meet the golden monkey trek and see other wildlife in the park including birds. Later return for a transfer back to Kigali for a drop off at the airport or hotel depending on schedule
